Syracuse police watchdog sets special meeting to update public on leadership vacancy

Syracuse, N.Y. — Following the resignation of its administrator, the independent watchdog of the Syracuse Police Department will give the community an update on its future in a special meeting this week.
The all-volunteer Syracuse Citizen Review Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Van B. Robinson Common Council Chambers on the third floor City Hall. At its regular monthly meeting on Oct. 3, the board conducted all of its business in a closed-door executive session to discuss personnel matters. The only paid staffer remaining at that point was CRB Administrator Ranette Releford, who had turned in her resignation on Sept. 25 and was requesting to remain on the job through the end of the year.
